WELCOME TO THE
In Kannur, the rhythm of weaving is more than craft it’s culture.
For generations, the looms here have sung the same tune, of patience, precision, and pride. From the fine checks once used in homes to the vibrant hues that travelled across oceans, every thread carries a part of Kannur’s story.
Watch the video below to hear from our weavers.
Give this video a watch we are sure you'll understand why a brand like us is important.
WHO DO WE WORK WITH
At Kaaro, we work hand-in-hand with local weaving societies, from Chirakkal to Irunnavu and Payyanur, each preserving techniques that have been perfected over decades. These are communities that understand colour not just through sight, but through feel. Their mastery of colour fasteners, natural dyes, and warp setting ensures that what they create doesn’t fade, not in shade, not in spirit.
We believe in doing things the right way.
That means ethical sourcing, upfront payments, and credit that stays with the craftsperson.
Every shirt, every fabric begins on a loom where tradition still meets human touch, not machines.
To meet our weavers is to understand that true artistry lies in repetition, in doing something so well, for so long, that it becomes second nature.
Their work isn’t just what we build Kaaro upon.
It is Kaaro.
Word from the founder
Kaaro began with a compliment. A single shirt, hand-embroidered in Kannur, worn to ISB. A classmate said, ‘I’d wear that.’ That moment made me realize something, fashion doesn’t have to be flashy to be powerful. It just has to be honest.
VISIBILITY FOR THE INVISIBLE
We give credit where it’s due. Every piece carries the name and story of the weaving society behind it.
INTEGRITY IN CRAFT
Ethically sourced, upfront paid, and sustainably made. Every fabric supports fair wages, clean processes, and conscious creation.
IMPACT THROUGH HERITAGE
By reviving Kannur’s looms and empowering artisans, we turn heritage into livelihood and craft into legacy.
Frequently asked questions
Our Philosophy
At Kaaro, we don’t chase trends. We preserve them.
We don’t mass-produce. We make meaning.
We don’t cut corners. We craft stories.
Kaaro was born out of a simple idea: luxury is not what everyone can buy it’s what not everyone can own.
That’s why every Kaaro garment is made slowly, intentionally, and in limited quantities.

Why Handloom Matters
When handloom fades, it’s not just a fabric we lose we lose livelihoods, culture, and generations of skill passed down by hand, not machine.
Artisans who’ve spent their lives perfecting this craft are being pushed aside by speed and scale. Entire communities risk losing their identity, their income, and their place in history.
At Kaaro, we choose to stand with them. Because choosing handloom isn’t just about wearing something beautiful it’s about keeping an entire ecosystem alive. It’s about choosing people over profit, tradition over trends, and a future that remembers where it came from.
